Dungeon Master's Notes

This page contains links to files that can be used by DMs for their own campaign or by anyone interested in some "behind the screen" information about the assassins campaign.

On this page you will find adventures, prestige classes and any house rules that we have taken the time to make presentable.

Item Type Description
The Tower of Guldar Heel Adventure This document describes the adventure that was chronicled in the stories starting from Episode 56. This module is written using AD&D 2nd Edition rules as that was what we were using at the time it was played. It shouldn't require too much effort for anyone interested enough to convert it to v3.5.
Harvester of Sorrow Prestige Class This prestige class will soon become very important to one of the assassins. It documents the rules surrounding a very specialist follower of Nerull and is something that Azareth will soon come to know.
Critical Misses House Rule One of the things that we felt was missing in the 3rd Edition rules was that sense of dread that overtook a player when he rolled a natural 1 for their attack roll. With that in mind we have come up with a Critical Miss table to try and retain some of that lost feeling.
Untrained Skills House Rule

We have never really agreed with the idea that an untrained person with a high ability score should be able to use a skill as well as a trained person with an average ability score. For example an untrained character with an 18 dexterity (+4 bonus) can Move Silently with the same chance of success as a trained character with a 10 dexterity and 4 ranks in that skill.

Therefore we have decided that any untrained skill has a -4 penalty attached. If you have 1 rank in the skill that penalty is reduced to -2 and if you have 2 ranks in the skill then that penalty is reduced to 0.

Speak with the dead House Rule

If a corpse's tongue is removed it cannot be the subject of a "speak with the dead" spell.
