History of Oerth
There is no questioning that most reckoning is dated by Common Year (CY), which commenced when the Overking of Aerdy declared universal peace through the whole of the Great Kingdom. Obviously the chronology of the world of Oerth began long before the time when the Overking was crowned in Rauxes. What follows is a table of events which begins at the time when records were first kept by the human peoples. The ages prior to this time can be described in general terms only, as details are sketchy at best.
This history has been compiled from the work of Gary Gygax, Lenard Lakofka, Frank Mentzer, Carl Sargent, Steve Wilson and TSR as well as a smattering of original material added to customise it to our campaign. Events and places have been left unchanged and nothing we have done has altered what has become the "official" history of Oerth. Flanae in the southeast (just west of the Hellfurnaces), the Oerid to the east, the remaining
Kersi to the south and the Baklun to the north all fall under the control of the Sueloise
Empire. The entire western half of Oerik is now cotrolled by the Suel. But Drow and darker
forces as well as fear of the other elves halt the eastern expansion.

The ferocity and magical might of the movement scatters the Oeridians in its path. One of the High Mages of the rebellious Zolite Suel, Slerotin causes a huge tunnel to be bored through the Crystalmist mountains through which the Suel flee. He then seals the tunnel closed at both ends, trapping one of the lesser branches of the family - the Lerara - inside. |

They harry and drive these Suel Houses south. Many are lost and remain in the Amedio Jungle. They eventually move back east and march toward what is now the Rift Canyon. |

Houses. Slerotin is himself destroyed by the power of these magics and causes the Rift Canyon to
be made. The remnants of the Three Pursuing houses are devastated by the effects of the spells. The
minds of their mages is wiped and their people are confused and terrified.
The surviving Suel flee northeast with the exception of one family. A small branch of the Schnai, the Hepmona, led by the Priestess Jaguanara moves south. They catch a lagging branch of Pellipardus' followers led by two brothers - Lendore (a mighty mage) and Tilvan (priest of Tharizdun). This si called the Second Division. Tilvan takes his followers, practicioners of the mental disciplines and hides in the Vast Swamp. Lendore takes his followers and moves to the largest of the Spindrift islands encountering the elves.
